DJ SAYURIの別プロジェクト。
2000年代後半、留学先のイギリスでPsy-tranceと出会う。
その中でも、とくに盛り上がりを⾒せていた Dark Progressiveサウンドへシフト。シーンの本場
ロンドンのスクウォットパーティを中⼼に、屋内外の様々なGIGで約４年間活動。帰国後、DJ活
動と並⾏しながら”Frangipani”名義で楽曲制作を開始。重厚なベースラインに軽快なトライバル
パーカッション、 ⼥性らしい繊細なサウンドでありつつも、男前なガッツのあるグルーヴでダン
スフロアを魅了する。2014年には、国内屈指のPsy-tranceレーベル Hinowa Recordingsへサイ
ン、これまでに6作のEPをリリースする。セルビア、UKでのユーロツアーやタオ島で開催のカウ
ントダウンパーティ、The Experience Festivalへ出演するなど、国外へ向けても精⼒的に活動の場
を広げている。⽇本を代表する⼥性トランスアーティスト。

Frangipani is a psy-trance producer by female DJ Sayuri based in Japan. Born in 1985 to Korean parents she spent her
childhood in Osaka, where at the early age of 3 she took a keen interest in classical music. She immersed herself into
playing piano and brass instruments and she continued to develop her musical skills for the next 20 years. During this
time, she performed at many various concerts and shows.
Eventually she was attracted by the lure and awesomeness of trance music after discovering the booming scene in
Japan. After finding the trance scene she began to play at a lot of commercial trance party organizationʼs as a resident
DJ. All this has allowed her the opportunity to absorb the influences of many other dance music styles… hard house,
minimal, techno, tech house and to meet up with international DJs, Producers, and also to appear on FM Radio shows.
However, the vibration of diverse music has never left her ear for one moment, Sayuri moved from Japan to England in
2007 in order to widen her musical boundaries and to see with her own eyes what’s happening within the real dance
music world. As soon she landed in the London underground squat party scene, she got involved in the more psy-trance
side of it. A few years later she started producing music and formed a project called ‘Frangipaniʼ. Her style which varies
between psy-progressive, dark progressive and blasting groove depends on the situation she plays in. The tracks are
composed using an unique percussive, tribal and oriental sound which she uses to combine all her music experiences.
All this put together with her love for the psy trance scene creates an absolute guarantee of a GROOVING dancefloor.
Now her 6th EP is out called “Orbit from New Human Records.
